ODDENT® is a medical product containing high molecular weight (EPM) hyaluronic acid (in the form of sodium hyaluronate), obtained through a biotechnology process of synthesis which guarantees a high level of purity. Its formulation has been created specifically so that it resembles the hyaluronic acid that is in the normal gingival tissue.

Hyaluronic acid is a physiological constituent of connective tissue that occurs naturally (especially in the gingival mucosa), which develops antiedematous functions and tissue repair. Macro-aggregation of hyaluronic acid and physico-chemical properties help to explain their anti-inflammatory properties.

Hyaluronic acid of EPM is connective tissue throughout the body in a selective and specific way. It is especially concentrated in the more superficial layers of healthy gingival tissue where the barrier function and contribute to the tension force of the periodontal ligament. The presence of hyaluronic acid of EPM is essential for the maintenance of healthy gingival tissue.
